I have worked in Los Angeles for a number a years and have provided screenplay coverage and analysis/notes to writers, producers, directors and industry executives during that time.
My approach as always been to be respectful of the material and those involved with it, but also to be frank & honest about my take on the script and all the elements which make it up. When discussing a story I like to focus more on what is not working than what is working. If an element of a script is solid, then there is nothing to really worry about; but problem areas should be addressed.
In addition, I’ve worked on studio feature films all the way through (development through post & release) along with indie feature films (development through post), thus I have a very balanced understanding of every aspect that a writer & their scripts can face. And I have written screenplays myself and even helped writers to tweak, edit, polish and rewrite their scripts.
